We left Brussels on Friday evening, in the pouring rain. While leaving, we hadn’t decided yet where to go, as we hesitated between Switzerland or northern Italy. But thanks to the freedom offered by our rooftop tent on the rented Defender, we could decide along the way!
In the end, Marseille inspired us the most, so we drove towards the south of France.
The next day around noon, we caught the first glimpse of the turquoise waters of the calanques emerging on the horizon. Several times we took the picturesque ‘Route des Crêtes’ along the coast to admire the scenery.
Every day we took wonderful walks, in places that were easily accessible thanks to our Defender: on the steep paths in the calanques, but also along the forest roads around La Ciotat, each trek treated us to breathtaking views and precious moments of tranquillity in the middle of nature.
Experiencing this adventure together, made our trip magical and unique: for a week, we enjoyed our comfortable place inside while still being outdoors. The Defender 110 proved to be a truly reliable travel companion and an irreplaceable addition to our experience.
We can’t wait to start it all over.
